- Caffeine in Tea: On average, a 6 oz cup of black tea has about 50 milligrams of caffeine — less than half the amount in a standard cup of brewed coffee. A similarly- sized cup of oolong tea contains ~30-40 mgs of caffeine, while green tea contains roughly 20-30 mgs. White tea contains just 15-20 mgs per cup. Herbal teas are naturally caffeine- free. It’s also important to note that not all of the caffeine can be fully removed from decaf teas; typically, a very small amount (such as 2-4 mgs/cup)
- Steeping Instructions: Simply heat fresh, filtered water to a rolling boil. Then pour 6 oz of water over a tea bag and steep for 3-5 minutes. Remove the tea bag and enjoy Sip by Sip. Add a bit of honey or a splash of milk if desired. For iced tea, double the amount of tea bags and pour over a generous amount of ice. After steeping, add the used tea bags to compost or soil — they make gardens happy.
