The Precision Twist TS18 short series, aircraft-threaded, hex shank split-point drill bit is made of HSS with a steam tempering (also called black oxide) finish. Designed for medium-duty service, they are good for drilling into low tensile strength materials in confined spaces. While the TS18 series was designed for aircraft industry, they also work well in other industries. The short length and 135-degree split point drill geometry provide good maneuverability in confined spaces and ensure an accurate hole by reducing walking when the hole is started. The finish retains lubricants to aid in wear resistance and chip flow. HSS assures good performance at an economical cost.
