The MT8870DE is a comprehensive DTMF receiver, integrating both band-split filtering and digital decoding. It employs switched capacitor techniques for high and low group filtering, and digital counting for detecting and decoding all 16 DTMF tone pairs into a 4-bit code. To reduce external component requirements, it includes an on-chip differential input amplifier, clock oscillator, and latched three-state bus interface.
